4th Circles Spain Volunteer Meeting

This Saturday, September 26, we held the 4th Annual Círculos España Volunteer Gathering at CaixaForum in Madrid.

The event brought together the various parties that make Circles Spain possible: volunteers, coordinators, prison service professionals, and the team responsible for evaluating the program’s effectiveness, of which FIADYS is a member.

It was a particularly important day for listening to those who experience the project from different perspectives. In particular, the participation of Icíar —Director of the Saca tu Voz Association— and family members of the core participants highlighted the importance of providing support to individuals seeking to reintegrate into the community in a positive way.

Their testimonies complemented the experiences shared by volunteers, coordinators, and professionals, fostering a collective reflection on how the circles operate and the fundamental roles played by companionship, accountability, and community support.

Additionally, the Círculos España prison-sector document is now available; this new publication offers deeper insight into the project’s development and its implementation within the prison system.

At FIADYS, we continue to contribute—through research—to the evaluation of Círculos España’s effectiveness, generating evidence that helps us understand its outcomes and further improve the intervention.

We extend our thanks to all the individuals and institutions that make this project possible, and especially to those who dedicate their time and commitment as volunteers.
